Mobile banking is a service that allows customers to access their bank accounts and process banking transactions on their mobile device, such as a smartphone or tablet. Users can view account balances, transfer money, deposit checks, and locate ATMs. 


The Spruce mobile banking app is a full-service financial platform that can manage your finances securely. In addition to the basic offerings of mobile banking, Spruce also has budget tracking tools and credit score insights to help you reach your financial goals.

Spruce is a mobile banking platform built by H&R Block that helps you manage your money through spending and savings accounts enhanced with budgeting tools, automatic savings transfers, and financial insights. To sign up with Spruce, download the Spruce app and signup or go to https://account.sprucemoney.com/signup/.

You’ll need to provide some verification info and create a unique password to apply for Spruce. If approved, you will open and have access to your new Spending and Savings accounts and digital debit card immediately. You’ll receive your physical debit card in 7-10 business days.

Mobile check deposit, available after you have deposited at least $200 in the past year and your accounts have been open for 30 days, is a convenient and secure way to deposit paper checks.

Depositing a check is simple to do from within the Spruce app:


1. Select Move Money and then Deposit a check.


2. Enter the amount on your check for deposit.


3. Take a pic of the front and back of the check. We even give you tips and automatically take the picture for you.


4. Select Deposit check.

You’re all set! We’ll message you in-app if your check has been accepted or rejected. We may also need additional time to review your check, but we’ll send you an email about the status of your check deposit in either case. Funds are generally available 3-11 business days after the deposit.
